Saskatoon Kennel and Obedience Club welcomes new members. The Club offers opportunities to become involved in the organization and running of dog shows, trials, classes, and other dog related activities.
Our regular meetings are held the first Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the training building. Meetings are held every month except for July.
Interested individuals are encouraged to complete a membership application that will be presented at the next monthly meeting. A Single Membership is $25.00 per year and is available to any single person sixteen years of age or over. A Family membership is $35.00 per year and includes all members of the immediate family residing at the same residence.
To join the Saskatoon Kennel and Obedience Club, our Constitution requires your application be sponsored by an SKOC member. If you do not know any SKOC members simply attend a monthly regular meeting (see Calendar for meeting dates). A sponsor will be appointed to you. The reason for a sponsor is to introduce you to other members with the same interests and to help you with any questions you may have.
We are a volunteer based club so we expect members to be involved and contribute to club activities. We host two obedience trials and one conformation dog show during the year. We need “all hands on deck” to help in some capacity with these events
As a new member you are eligible for free classes once you have met the following criteria:
A new member must attend monthly meetings regularly and/or help with club activities and/or hold an executive position and/or regularly assist with classes to receive classes for half price in the second year of membership.
From the third year forward, provided the member continues to attend monthly meetings regularly, and/or helps with club activities and/or holds an executive position and/or regularly assists with classes, classes at that time shall be free.
All members have access to our library of books and videotapes.
For any questions you may have about SKOC membership, please email our Membership Chair, CMcLean@gscs.ca
The SKOC will serve its membership and the community at large by giving support, understanding, help and guidance in all their canine-related endeavors.
