Member of the Year

“Each year SKOC presents a Member of the Year Award to a club member who has demonstrated outstanding service and/or exceptional commitment in his or her position. The Member of the Year is chosen by the club President, with input from the general membership and committee chairpersons.”
The award for the Member of the Year is the most prestigious acknowledgement that our membership can bestow on one of its own.

2019 Member of the Year Shelly Campbell

2019 Member of the Year

This year we recognise Shelly Campbell as our 2019 member of the year.  Shelly went above and beyond getting our records in order.  I do not want to even think of how many hours she spent getting our books straightened out after a year and a half of bookkeeping being neglected.

Thank You Shelly for all your hard Work

Susan Mogenson, President

2018 Members of the Year Faye and Roy Langlands

This  award is earned on the year that has just ended and for the many years a member may have worked for the club?  Looking at the past recipients of the award they have been either life members or members who have put in many hours of work.

This year the Award goes to a couple who have given many hours to the club in the many years they have been members.  We believe Faye and Roy deserve to be recognised for all the time that they have spent helping this club, teaching classes, helping at trials organising food for the canteen, membership and building chairs up until last year.

I would like to present Faye and Roy Langlands as SKOC 2018 members of the year.

Thank you for all you have done for the club.

Susan Mogenson
SKOC President

2017 Member of the Year Cam Phee

As out going president of SKOC, I would like to acknowledge all the hard
working individuals of this club. We continue to put on a multitude of
events- Shows and Trials and Special Events. It is only possible because
of the strong volunteer base of this organization. All the people in this
room this evening, have volunteered, in one way or another.
With so many hard working individuals in this club, it is always difficult to
select a person for The Member of The Year Award. As I have said before,
it has always been awarded to a person that contributes their expertise
year after year. It is better defined as a “Life Time Achievement Award”!
The Member of the Year Award is awarded by the president, with input
from the membership.
The individual that is to receive this award has been:
Volunteering for All Shows and Trials,
Teaches classes on a weekly basis,
Organizes and assists with Matches
Chairs a vital part of our organization
Encourages new members into our club
This person does so with a ready smile and a quiet sense of humour.
Truly an outstanding member of SKOC!
The Member of the Year for 2017 is Cam McPhee! Congratulations from
all of us!
